Chicago, IL (September 13th - 16th, 2021) – SIMPAC America, North American subsidiary of South Korea’s SIMPAC, Inc., exhibited at FABTECH Chicago, North America’s largest metal forming, fabricating, welding, and finishing event.

As multiple competitors were unable to represent the industry this year, SIMPAC America was positioned at the front entrance of the metal form pavilion, booth D46323, and showcased its new extended reality (XR) tool, solutions for electric vehicle (EV) production, and overall rebrand.

“To be completely transparent, we were not sure what we would get in terms of results this year at FABTECH due to the pandemic and almost all of our competitors pulling out of the show last minute,” explains Stephan Robertson, General Manager/VP of Sales & Operations at SIMPAC America. “We knew we had to ensure the health and safety of our employees, and all attendees and exhibitors involved, but we knew we had to be there for our customers. There was no question about that. After the show, we took a long hard look at the results. We were safe, we saved money, we generated a ton of media coverage, and we networked with multibillion-dollar companies. There were over 24,000 attendees this year despite the pandemic, and only 1,200 exhibitors. SIMPAC was proud to be one of the few, and we will continue to be present at FABTECH shows moving forward.”

Some highlights of SIMPAC’s presence at the show included a live video production with MetalForming Magazine, the first-ever unveil of SIMPAC’s XR tool, and a live press conference with top trade publications and industry professionals – all of which occurred on-site at SIMPAC America’s booth during the show. In addition to these notable achievements, SIMPAC was selected to host a conference session for FABTECH’s Call for Speakers. The conference, “Revolutionizing the Manufacturing Industry with XR Technology," explained how XR will reconstruct the training and educating of multi-generational employees, the processing of remote buy-offs and service support, and the implementation of practical IIOT applications on shop floors.
